The Governing Board wishes to appoint a highly professional, organised and efficient School Business Manager to join our dedicated administration team from September 2026.

About the Role

The School Business Manager (SBM) is responsible for leading and managing the strategic and operational business functions of the school, including finance, human resources, administration, compliance, procurement and health and safety. Working closely with the Headteacher and Governors, the successful candidate will ensure effective systems and processes are in place to support the smooth running of the school and enable leaders to focus on teaching and learning.

  • Demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail and high standards in all aspects of the role
  • Build positive professional relationships with staff, pupils, parents, governors and external stakeholders
  • Be able to work under pressure and prioritise workloads effectively
  • Have a can do attitude and be willing to undertake any task as required
  • Be confident using IT systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Have working knowledge of SIMS to maintain records, collate reports and manage pupil data
  • Present a professional manner at all times
  • Be willing to take on additional responsibilities as the role develops
  • Have experience leading, or undertaking a senior role within, a business support team
  • Have up-to-date knowledge of school finance, procurement, HR, SFVS, SCR, GDPR and Ofsted compliance experience
  • Have experience working as a School Business Manager or in a senior finance role
  • Have experience managing budgets and preparing financial reports
