The Role
Do you enjoy working outside and taking pride in keeping your local environments? Are you qualified to weld? If so, this could be the role you’ve been looking for. We are excited to be recruiting for a new Play Fitter to join our expanding Parks and Play team. This role is to help maintain Middlesbrough’s play areas and the council's fleet of vehicles.
For the successful candidate, this unique role involves a mixture of carrying out inspections, maintaining and repairing play areas across the town, carrying out welding tasks associated with routine maintenance and repairs of railings, foot bridges, fencing, as well as welding repairs to council vehicles.
To fulfil this role, you need to be fit, enthusiastic, polite, flexible and approachable. You must be qualified to carry out either or both MIG and STICK welding, hold a full driving licence and have a basic knowledge of general workshop tools, along with a good understanding of Health & Safety. You will contribute to the development and implementation of our play strategy.
Works hours: 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday between 7:30am – 5.00pm.
