North Tyneside Council’s Sport and Leisure service is offering an exciting opportunity to join our high performing team. We are specifically looking to recruit a full time Leisure Assistant based at Tynemouth Pool in North Shields.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep the public safe in the pool area.
- Ensure the facility is always clean and presentable.
- Maintain an excellent level of customer care.

- Use own initiative, work as part of a team and independently, and strive for excellent customer care.
- Adhere to shift pattern including evening and weekend working and be flexible to work at any site across the borough.
Requirements
- Valid RLSS pool lifeguard qualification or equivalent.
- Capability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, independent work, and commitment to customer care.
- Willingness to work nights, evenings, weekends and across different sites.
- Acceptance of post exemption from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requirement for Enhanced DBS disclosure.
- Ability to adapt for reasonable adjustments; please declare adjustment needs during application.
Working Hours
Thursday 15:00‑18:00 and Friday 15:00‑18:00.
Salary
Grade 5 (SCP 7-9): £26,403‑£27,254.
