Ferryhill Town Council is seeking a dynamic, forward‑looking Town Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer to further develop the quality and range of services provided to our residents. The role demands strong leadership, self‑motivation, enthusiasm, lateral thinking, as well as administrative, financial and interpersonal skills, with an ability to form strong partnerships with our community.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the Council meets local government best‑practice standards and the effective, efficient implementation of all council decisions.
- Motivate staff through effective management and provide clear direction.
- Lead and oversee financial management, budgeting and reporting for the Council.
- Develop and enhance services for the community, including event planning and delivery.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with local stakeholders and partners.
- Provide senior leadership and strategic direction for the Town Clerk function.
Qualifications
- Proven track record at a senior level in local councils.
- Possession of the CiLCA qualification or commitment to achieving it within 12 months of appointment.
- Demonstrated experience in financial management and public sector governance.
- Strong communication, analytical and organisational skills.
