We are looking for a Communications Officer to raise the profile of Action Foundation and help us champion our services for refugees and asylum seekers across the North East. You will be an excellent writer with strong interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be confident in writing compelling client stories, producing compelling content, coordinating campaigns, managing our social media channels and media relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Write compelling client stories.
  • Produce compelling content.
  • Coordinate campaigns.
  • Manage social media channels and media relationships.
  • Work with the Business Development and Communications Team to increase engagement through volunteering, fundraising and influencing opportunities.

Essential Information:

  • Reports to: Business Development & Communications Manager
  • Hours: 21 hours per week (flexible working spread across 3‑4 days)
  • Location: Newcastle Office with option for Hybrid working
  • Contract: Permanent contract subject to passing a three‑month probation period
  • Salary Scale: £27,794 – £30,688 (pro‑rate) with 6% pension contribution
  • Annual Leave: 28 days + English Bank Holidays (pro‑rate)
