The team… We have exciting opportunities for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our brilliant team in Construction, whose ambition is to deliver on the promises we make to our customers. Then this could be an opportunity you just don’t want to miss.
About the role… You will be working as a multi-skilled operative undertaking general building duties covering repairs, refurbishment, and upgrades to all property types and Commercial within the Council’s property portfolio, as required in line with business needs. You will undertake minor cross-trade work to support the service’s ‘one front door approach’, be proactive in all aspects of health and safety, and work collaboratively with the team to deliver positive outcomes for our customers. The service operates from 7.30am to 7.30pm to meet customer needs; therefore, there may be a requirement for some later working.

What’s in it for you? You’ll be paid a competitive salary of £28,624 to £31,067 per annum. We’ll help you save for your future with an outstanding employer contribution to your pension. You will receive an annual leave entitlement starting at 28 days per year (pro-rata for part-time employees), rising to 32, with 2 days that may be fixed by the council at any time. You also have the chance to buy up to 10 additional holidays per year. You will have access to a Council vehicle for work use. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in the Rest Day Off scheme, subject to management approval and business needs, which equates to 13 days extra leave per year.
