The Statutory Assessment and Review Team require a Statutory SEND Officer to join their busy team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate would be responsible for managing a caseload of learners with special educational needs who attend a variety of schools, settings and colleges throughout Northumberland. They would be expected to ensure that statutory processes are carried out in a timely manner and that EHC Plans are of the highest quality, helping to secure the best possible outcomes across education, health and social care for the learner, including preparing them for adulthood. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work to deadlines within a fast-paced team. Previous experience in the field of SEND and a good working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice is required, although some training will be given. This is a fixed term position for 1 year.
