Are you passionate about driving economic growth and regeneration? We are looking for a Senior Programme Officer to join our Funding Investment and Assurance Team. This is a key role in shaping and delivering strategic investment programmes that make a real difference across Northumberland.
Lead programme delivery: Manage complex, multi-year investment projects and programmes from planning through to completion, ensuring objectives, timelines and budgets are met.
Build partnerships: Work closely with internal teams, external partners and funding bodies to keep projects on track and maximise investment outcomes.
Monitor performance: Track progress, manage risks, and provide clear reporting to senior leadership and funding authorities in line with governance frameworks.
Who we are looking for: You might already have experience in programme management, economic development, or investment delivery. Or you could be new to this area but bring strong transferable skills - such as project management, stakeholder engagement, financial oversight or strategic planning. If you are organised, proactive, and able to work with multiple partners to deliver results, we would love to hear from you. You will be part of a dynamic and supportive team based at County Hall, Morpeth, with agile and flexible working arrangements available to support your success. We are looking for a dynamic professional with strong programme management skills, excellent stakeholder engagement experience, ability to lead and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Requirements of the job:
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years' recent experience and achievement in external funding management and support.
- Proven track record in developing and delivering externally funded projects, including Investment Funds, Investment Zones, and Growth Endowment Funds.
- Advanced IT and project management skills, strong analytical and written communication abilities, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability and license to drive to current EU standard
