The predicted salary is between 24000 - 28000 £ per year.
Fixed term for 6 months. We have an opportunity to join our Business Operations Centre within the Payables Section. This role will take responsibility for administering the Accounts Payable activities within the Procure to Pay process. You will ensure the timely payment of suppliers to the council, verifying supplier and invoice data, inputting into the Accounts Payable system, participate in daily BACS and cheque runs, ensuring deadlines are adhered to, and provide customer‑focused service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the administration of Accounts Payable activities.
- Process and pay invoices within agreed timescales.
- Maintain Payables systems effectively.
- Verify accuracy of supplier and invoice data under prepayment audit requirements.
- Run BACS and cheque runs, ensuring transmission deadlines.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Good standard of general education to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
- Proven IT skills, including procurement and accounts payable functions.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience in a local authority Payables setting desirable.
- Knowledge of Oracle E Business Suite Procurement and Payables modules desirable.
