Permanent. Term time plus 5 days. Band 5. £28,598 - £31,002 FTE. £24,598 - £26,665 pro rata. 37 hours per week Monday-Thursday: 8.15am-4.15pm Friday: 8.15am-3.45pm.

About the role

Pegswood Primary School is seeking to appoint an organised, efficient and personable Office Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operations of our busy school office. This is a pivotal role within our welcoming and inclusive school community. As the first point of contact for pupils, parents/carers, staff and visitors, you will help create a positive and professional experience for everyone who enters our school. You will provide high‑quality administrative and organisational support to the Headteacher and wider staff team.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the full range of administrative, reception and communication functions across the school.
  • Welcome pupils and visitors, respond to enquiries from parents/carers and members of the public.
  • Manage school communications, maintain administrative systems and support the efficient operation of the school.

Essential skills and experience

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload effectively and respond flexibly to changing priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Approachable, professional, committed to providing excellent customer service.
  • Experience of working in a busy administrative environment (school experience desirable but not essential).
  • Ability to promote a caring and inclusive ethos and contribute positively to the life of the school.
