Lunchtime Supervisor – Dyke House Academy

Location: Dyke House Academy, Mapleton Road, Hartlepool, TS24 8NQ

Contract type: Permanent (part‑time, 7.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 12pm–1.30pm, 38 weeks plus 2 paid weeks)

Salary: Grade 1, SCP3 – SCP4 (£24,796.00 - £25,185.00 FTE); part‑time pro rata £4,372.00 - £4,441.00.

Working times: 12pm – 1.30pm, 38 weeks plus 2 days. Pro rata salary adjustment applies if you commence part way through the year.

Your role will be to work directly under the Principal to supervise pupils during lunchtime, ensuring a safe, positive and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision & support: Escort pupils to and from the dining area, assist them at the serving counter, and maintain clean tables and packed‑lunch areas.
  • Behaviour & welfare: Maintain suitable behaviour standards in line with academy policy, help children develop social skills, and monitor pupil well‑being.
  • Health & safety: Attend to minor accidents or illness, follow health and safety requirements, and adhere to GDPR and data protection guidelines.
  • Safeguarding: Follow the Trust's safeguarding and child protection policies, recognise and report any concerns to the designated safeguarding lead or Principal.

  • Ability to work effectively under the direction of teaching staff and liaise professionally with colleagues.
