We are looking for a motivated and professional Licensing Officer to join our Licensing team, delivering vital regulatory services that help protect the public and support responsible business activity across Northumberland. The post will be based either within our enforcement team or processing teams. You will deal with a varied caseload of licensing work relating to processing applications and/or carrying out inspections, investigating complaints, and taking proportionate enforcement action where required. You will work closely with businesses, members of the public, and partner agencies to ensure compliance with licensing legislation and promote public safety.
We are looking for someone who is detail-focused, resilient, and confident in applying legislation, with excellent communication skills and a strong customer-focused approach.

Requirements of the Job
- Experience working within a licensing, regulatory, or compliance environment, including enforcement or investigations.
- Sound knowledge of licensing legislation and the ability to interpret and apply legal requirements.
- Ability to undertake site inspections and travel across the region (full UK driving licence desirable).
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills, including handling challenging situations professionally.
