Library & Information Assistants 18.5hpw | Fixed Term until 31/12/2026
Are you outgoing, love helping people and enthusiastic about your local community? If so, we are looking for 2 part‑time (18.5hrs) Library & Information Assistants at Morpeth Library to assist in the promotion and delivery of a comprehensive and efficient library and information service to residents and visitors in Northumberland by maintaining the day‑to‑day operations on site; acting as the first point of contact, maintaining a high level of customer care and undertaking a range of tasks that support the delivery of a quality service.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work with a wide range of people.
- Approachable and helpful.
- Confident with people and technology; some experience with library systems would be an advantage.
- Community‑minded and inclusive.
- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
- The ability to travel between sites; access to a car and a driving licence is helpful but not required.
At the heart of the role is a genuine interest in books, reading, literature and community engagement.
