St Anne’s Catholic Primary School is a ‘Good’ rated school based in Harlow Green with 163 children on roll. We are proud to be part of the Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust, a family of secondary, middle, primary and first schools in Durham, Gateshead, Northumberland and Sunderland. Role Summary

We wish to appoint a committed, well-qualified and highly effective Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work under the guidance of teaching staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work programmes with individual/groups, in or out of the classroom.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs.
  • Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
  • Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/planning as appropriate.
  • Be responsible for keeping and updating records as agreed with the teacher, contributing to reviews of systems/records as requested.
  • Implement agreed learning activities teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil responses/needs.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos, work, aims of the school.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working in a school environment.
  • A good standard of education – a minimum of 4 GCSEs including English and Mathematics.
  • Ability to communicate effectively – orally and in writing.
  • A commitment to ensure that all pupils are supported to achieve the highest standards.
  • Experience of working across all stages.
  • Experience of working with SEN children.
  • An understanding of child development and learning.
