A vacancy has arisen within Business Services for a full time, permanent Legal Clerical Assistant to provide legal clerical support to solicitors and legal assistants in the Children, Adults and Health team.

WHAT IS INVOLVED

Key duties and responsibilities include: –

  • Creating, updating and maintaining court bundles to a high standard; ensuring court bundles are served in accordance with courtdeadlines.
  • Uploading documents and submitting applications to Court via Family Court Digital Portal and serving on parties via secure methodsof service.
  • Liaising with barrister chambers to identify counsel for hearings.
  • Redaction of sensitive information in court documents before adding to the bundle.
  • Arrangements for payments of fees and expenses.
  • Arrange transcription of media files.
  • Organising and arranging solicitors’ diary engagements.
  • Responding to a variety of incoming queries via telephone/email from a wide range of professionals and members of the public.

WHAT WILL I NEED

You should have 4 GCSE\’s Graded A-C including English Language or Literature and NVQ Level 3 in Administration, BTEC or equivalent.

HYBRID WORKING

Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.
