To be successful, you will have prior extensive experience of working in a similar role.This opportunity involves leadership of two small teams, regional stakeholder management and working on initiatives, ICT projects, as an individual and leading organisational resources to achieve positive outcomes.

It is a varied role involving close collaboration within ICT and with colleagues from other departments and regional stakeholders. A friendly, approachable and collaborative manner alongside an aptitude for ICT is required with a vision of delivering outstanding customer service.

Typical Month

  • You will lead and manage two teams – information systems, print and distribution and ensure colleagues are supported and can deliver to rapidly changing schedules.
  • Working independently, within your team, or with other stakeholders you will deliver transportation initiatives that bring improvements around the region.
  • You will have a structured, well governed and organised approach ensuring on time delivery of data changes and print distribution. Such efforts will be visually seen around the region.
  • As part of the ICT Service Delivery team you will assist to deliver various smaller projects including some aspects of testing initiatives.
  • Maintaining commercial revenue streams is part of the role and you will have a close eye on achieving revenues
  • Ensuring websites, apps and travel data, including displays are correctly updated and there is integrity in our data.
  • Enjoying the social values and rewards of improving our public transport across the region.

About You

  • You will have experience of leading and managing teams, with genuine, demonstrable, people skills.
  • Extensive experience of working in a similar role overseeing a range of systems and technologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, an ability to influence, an ability to visualise direction of projects and anticipate concerns.
  • You are passionate about the customer experience for out internal and external customers.
  • You will be able to work dynamically on activities either individually, within your team or interfacing with different business functions, teams and stakeholders.
  • You genuinely want to deliver improvements to our customers that utilise public transport.

Our Team

You will join a diverse technical and engineering team who are passionate about supporting and delivering high quality digital services. There are circa 70 of us within the team and some of us have progressed our careers within Nexus whilst recruiting new talent. The great news is, between us we have a fantastic set of knowledge and skills to support each other to get the job done.

Job Details and Benefits

  • This is a Monday to Friday post with flexible working in line with Nexus’ Agile policy.
  • The role is based at Nexus House, Newcastle, however flexibility is required to occasionally work from other Nexus locations including Gosforth and South Shields.
  • You’ll work a 36 hour week.
  • There will be some hybrid working.
  • You’ll be part of a generous pension scheme.
