We are recruiting a Housing Options Officer to support the New Homes Officers with the allocation and letting of homes. The role involves guiding housing applicants through the process, providing advice on housing options, completing verification checks, carrying out visits and viewings with customers, and helping to create sustainable tenancies in line with North Tyneside Council's Lettings Policy.
Responsibilities
- Support the allocation and letting of homes for new residents.
- Guide housing applicants through the application and assessment process.
- Provide advice on suitable housing options and policies.
- Complete verification checks and maintain accurate records.
- Carry out visits and viewings with customers.
- Create sustainable tenancies that maximise rental income and minimise void loss.
Qualifications
- Motivated, well‑organised individual with a strong customer focus.
- Experience in social housing, with knowledge of allocations and lettings desirable.
- Ability to work with vulnerable households and an understanding of safeguarding.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Awareness of relevant policies and procedures such as homelessness and domestic abuse.
