We are looking for a full time Teacher of History who is enthusiastic and passionate about their subject. The successful candidate will be able to teach History to GCSE and be a subject specialist. Ability to teach other Humanities subjects at KS3 would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Teach History to GCSE, applying Rosenshine’s Principles to underpin teaching and learning.
- Plan jointly with the Humanities Faculty and adhere to a clear, centralised behaviour policy.
- Use teaching and assessment effectively to ensure pupils know and remember key knowledge and skills.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra‑curricular clubs, trips and visits.
- Support the ethos of developing the whole child.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified teacher with subject knowledge in History.
- Ability to teach History to GCSE; advantage if able to teach other Humanities subjects at KS3.
- Reflective practitioner who can maximise the potential of all pupils.
- Experience of teaching and assessment aligned with modern pedagogical principles.
Employment Details
- Salary: Main scale – upper pay scale, in line with ability and experience.
- Contract type: Full time – permanent (37 weeks term time). Part time working will be considered.
- Start date: September 2026.
