We have an exciting role on offer within our Policy, Governance and Information service as a Health and Safety Advisor.

The successful candidate will be part of a team of highly competent Health and Safety professionals who respond to the Council’s existing and emerging Health and Safety risks. The successful candidate will be involved in delivering a wide range of Health and Safety functions including:
- The review of corporate policies and procedures.
- Development and review of risk assessments and health and safety website content.
- Training design and delivery.
- Development and delivery of target health and safety audits and initiatives.
- Provision of health and safety advice to managers in different risk areas of the business.
- Delivery of fire risk assessments and accident screening and investigations across a range of council service functions.
You should possess the NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety, and either hold the NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate, an equivalent fire safety qualification, or be actively working towards obtaining one. You should be confident and an effective communicator, capable of engaging with a diverse range of audiences. Strong teamwork skills, a flexible approach to tasks, the ability to meet deadlines, and proficiency in IT are essential. As a qualified and experienced Health and Safety professional, it’s desirable that you are registered with IOSH and hold a relevant qualification.
