Sport and leisure currently operate 5 state‑of‑the‑art indoor leisure sites across the borough, including four swimming pools, multi‑functional fitness suites, sports halls, studios and outdoor pitches. The service attracts over one million visitors a year. You will be based at the Lakeside Centre as a Gym Fitness Instructor (GP Referral qualified).
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the gym
- Deliver gym inductions to the general public and GP referrals
- Create exercise programmes for customers
- Ensure health and safety, including carrying out equipment checks and safe use of equipment
- Assist customers with enquiries
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness
- Promote the positive image of North Tyneside Council
- Encourage customer participation
- Maintain high customer service standards
- Attend meetings when required
Commitment:
A commitment to ongoing professional development is essential. Applicants must demonstrate excellent customer care skills, provide efficient and friendly service, and be able to work as part of a team or independently. Hours & Salary:
Wednesday and Thursday 4pm–8pm, Friday 8am–12pm. The position is a part‑time permanent post, working 12 hours per week. The salary is Grade 7 pro‑rata.
