Overview
The Northumberland Family Time (Contact) Service supervise family time for children and families across the county of Northumberland. The role helps support families to spend quality time with each other when they can\βt live together. We work with very vulnerable children and so we must ensure we maintain professional relationships whilst managing complex family needs and behaviours. A Family Time Worker will be allocated a family and remain within them for the duration of the session, during which they will observe and record the interactions and parenting, provide advice (if requested) and only intervene to ensure the safety of a child/young person.
We supervise family time within our dedicated venues and the local community. The main office base is in Ashington, however staff will work across the whole county of Northumberland adopting agile and flexible working.
What we\βre looking for
We are looking for people who have a passion for helping and supporting children and families. The ideal candidate will have :
- A minimum NVQ 3 in working with children and families or equivalent experience of working with children and families
- Experience of direct work with children, their families and carers in a statutory or voluntary agency which provides services to vulnerable children and their families
- Be flexible to work evenings and occasional weekends as needed to ensure we can provide support to families at suitable times. This will involve working until after 6 pm most evenings.
- Have access to a vehicle and a driving licence
