We are looking to recruit a Family Help Worker (Early Help) to support families with children and young people 0-19 within Northumberland's Supporting Families Framework. The vacancy is to support children and families across the Central Northumberland Locality covering Ashington, Bedlington, Choppington, Newbiggin & Morpeth areas. This exciting opportunity will be to work with any children & young people. There is one full time position (37 hours per week) available.

Responsibilities

  • Working within an established team, we are looking for self-motivated and responsible applicants, with good communication skills.
  • You will enjoy working as part of a team but also be able to use your own initiative and work independently to manage your commitments and organise your time.
  • You will need to be competent in working directly with children and families, completing assessments, leading family plans and be able to work effectively alongside our partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children and families.

  • The role is office based, with some flexibility to work from home at times, agreed through your line manager.

Essential requirements

  • A minimum of Level 3 Childcare qualification or equivalent is essential, as is a good depth of understanding and knowledge of child / young person development.
  • You need to show knowledge and experience of the Early Help Assessment process and be able to demonstrate an ability to chair TAF meetings.
