As an EYFS Teaching Assistant at South Bank Primary School, you will play a key role in supporting teaching, learning and care within the Early Years setting. You will work closely with the class teacher and EYFS Lead to provide high-quality learning experiences, support children’s development and ensure their wellbeing and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of the EYFS curriculum through play-based and adult-led activities
  • Work with individuals and small groups to support learning across all areas of development
  • Encourage children’s communication, language and early literacy skills
  • Build positive, nurturing relationships with children
  • Support children’s personal, social and emotional development
  • Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour
  • Support children with toileting, hygiene and personal care where required
  • Support the recording of children’s progress and learning journeys
  • Maintain a safe, clean and stimulating learning environment
  • Follow safeguarding, child protection and health and safety procedures
  • Support children’s emotional wellbeing and report concerns in line with school policy
  • Support positive communication with parents and carers
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals when required
  • Attend staff meetings, training and professional development sessions
