The post holder will be engaging in regulated activity, working mainly or wholly with children. This position is exempt from the rehabilitation of offender’s act 1974. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
Northern Education Trust (NET) is a charitable education Trust that sponsors 30 academies; 17 secondary and 13 primaries across the North of England. NET is seeking a reliable individual to join Dyke House Academy as an Exam Invigilator. The primary purpose of this role is to work under the direction of the Data and Examinations Officer to ensure exams are conducted fairly and appropriately, maintaining an environment that allows our pupils to perform at their absolute best.
Key Responsibilities- Examining Setup: Assist in preparing venues by laying out stationery, equipment, and papers according to strict procedures.
- Candidate Support: Direct candidates to their seats, advise them on permitted possessions, and respond to queries in line with regulations.
- Conduct & Monitoring: Ensure candidates remain quiet and cease disruptive behaviour once inside the venue.
- Invigilation: Monitor the room during exams, deal with irregularities, and record attendance, late arrivals, or early leavers.
- Safe Escorting: Supervise candidates during toilet breaks or when they need to leave the venue, ensuring no unauthorized material is consulted.
- Post‑Exam Coordination: Collect and collate exam scripts following strict procedures and ensure students leave the venue quietly.
- Compliant: You can follow and enforce strict examination board regulations and school policies.
- Professional: You maintain confidentiality and adhere to GDPR and Data Protection Regulations at all times.
- Diligent: You are observant of candidate needs and potential malpractice, ensuring due process is followed.
