Position: Community Occupational Therapist – two x 12 month fixed term posts
Location: Alnwick Fire Station, Alnwick.
Salary: Band 7 £34,314 – £37,938
Hours: 1x Full time post 37 hours per week; and 1x part time post 18.5 hours per week.
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist, newly qualified or experienced, who wants to start or progress their careers in a highly rewarding area of work where they can make a real difference to people\’s lives.
Someone who is keen to develop their Occupational Therapy skills through involvement with adult residents experiencing a wide-ranging health and social care needs.
We have two 12-month fixed term contracts available based in North Northumberland; 1 full time and 1 part time post. The position is Band7.

· Community work is interesting and varied, giving you the opportunity to be involved in everything, from assessing for andproviding:
- Basic and complex equipment and minor works;
- Rehabilitation and reablement interventions;
- Major adaptations;
- Manual handling assessments and recommendations.
· We work with adult residents of Northumberland who are experiencing functional problems relating to physical disability, mental health difficulties or learning disability. This makes the work varied and interesting but also very rewarding.
· The Community Occupational Therapy Service plays a pivotal role in supporting residents to remain in their own homes; hospital admission avoidance; and hospital discharge. Interventions can take place in client\’s homes as well as Residential and Nursing homes.
· The post holder will be based at Alnwick Fire Station, Alnwick, with the opportunity to work agile from home and other NCC sites across the county as agreed with management.
· Our teams have a mix of Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants and Technical Instructors. We share office bases with wider adult social care services meaning you have the MDT around you.
