We have an exciting role on offer within our Strategic Procurement and Commissioning service as a Commissioning Manager - Education & Partnerships.
Middlesbrough Council is seeking an experienced, ambitious and highly motivated Commissioning Manager β Education & Partnerships to lead and drive the delivery of our SEND transformation programme at a pivotal time for children, young people and families.
This is a new and unique opportunity to help shape the future of services for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring that commissioning arrangements are responsive, effective and deliver improved outcomes across education, health and care.
Working within our Children's Services commissioning team, you will play a leading role in developing and implementing commissioning strategies that support the Council's SEND reform agenda. You will work closely with colleagues, providers, schools, health partners, families and other stakeholders to design and commission high-quality services that meet local need, improve experiences and deliver value for money.
The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong track record in commissioning, service transformation and partnership working. You will have the ability to influence at all levels, manage complex programmes of work and drive innovation to achieve sustainable improvements for children and young people.
We are looking for someone who has: -
- Significant experience in commissioning, service development or transformation within children's services, education, health or related sectors.
- A strong understanding of the SEND landscape, relevant legislation and best practice.
- Excellent programme and project management skills.
- Experience of building effective partnerships and influencing stakeholders across organisational boundaries.
- A passion for improving outcomes for children, young people and their families.
