Following recent service developments, we are delighted to offer exciting Social Work opportunities within our developing countywide Learning Disability Team in Northumberland. This is your chance to join a forward-thinking service that values collaboration and is committed to delivering high-quality support and better outcomes for the people we work with.
The post is a permanent contract, full time at 37hrs per week. Salary: £39,862 - £44,075 (dependent on experience) including annual increments. You will be based at Eddie Ferguson House, Blyth but we offer flexible working options including the option to hybrid work from alternative locality bases around the County. As a Social Worker in our Learning Disability team, you will undertake care and support needs assessments, care planning and reviews, complete Care Act and Mental Capacity assessments, and work closely with individuals, families, and carers to create tailored care plans that truly make a difference. You'll also collaborate with a range of other internal and external statutory, private and charitable and voluntary stakeholders to ensure our residents receive the right support and resources to achieve better outcomes.
Our Learning Disability team is co-located with specialist health partners, fostering strong collaborative relationships that lead to more integrated working and better outcomes for the individuals and families we support. You will enjoy autonomy in managing your caseload, working closely with a supportive team while receiving consistent guidance from Advanced Social Work Practitioners and your Team Manager.

For this position you must have the following:
- Degree in Social Work & registered with Social Work England
- Successfully completed the UK Skills for Care ASYE programme
- Experience of Social Work with adults and experience of working within Adult Social Care teams in particular with clients whose primary need is a learning disability.
- A valid UK driving licence and is either a car owner and is able to use the car for work purposes.
