Tynedale House is a residential home rated Outstanding by CQC and provides excellent support and care to people with learning disabilities in both residential and respite settings.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join our catering team as a cook.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals for residents, including specialised diets.
Work within a 7‑hour shift pattern (8 am to 4 pm with 1‑hour lunch break) on a 2‑week rota (Week 1: Mon, Tue, Sat, Sun; Week 2: Wed, Thu, Fri).
Follow health and safety procedures and use catering equipment safely.
Qualifications & Experience
- A basic food hygiene certificate.
- Knowledge of catering equipment and tasks.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety and training in Manual Handling.
- Relevant experience in a kitchen setting, including food preparation and cooking.
- Willingness to learn and prepare meals for specialised diets.

Starting salary: £13.26 per hour (£25,583 – £25,989 FTE, £16,940 – £17,208 pro rata). Enhancements are payable on weekends and bank holidays.
Benefits include
- 26 days annual leave plus public/bank holidays, rising to 31 days after 5 years of service (pro‑rata for part‑time employees).
