An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Northumberland Sensory Support Service as a permanent, 0.8 FTE Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (QT o D). The successful candidate will work throughout Northumberland on a peripatetic basis, in a variety of settings including in the home.

The role involves direct intervention teaching in classroom, 1:1 or small group settings and a child‑centred advisory practice that includes collaborative working with other relevant professionals. The post sits under the Low Incidence Needs Team and supports children and young people aged 0‑25.

We are looking for a qualified teacher, preferably with at least 3 years of teaching experience, and who has experience with students who have a hearing loss. Flexibility, enthusiasm, commitment, a sense of humour and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential, as is the ability to travel across Northumberland.

We are offering a permanent position, 0.8 FTE (4 days per week) Salary MPS/UPS per annum plus SEN 2 allowance Teachers' Pension Scheme.
