Ridgeway Primary Academy is seeking to appoint an Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join our team. You will study for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship for 18 months and will be supported by mentors from Tyne Coast College.
You will work as an Apprentice Teaching Assistant supporting teachers and pupils in the classroom in lessons and become an integral part of the school support team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting staff to prepare for lessons/activities
- Helping create a safe and enjoyable learning environment for all pupils
- Supporting pupils with classroom activities during lessons
- Organising and leading play activities
- Assisting with teacher administration and classroom displays
- Accompanying pupils on trips and other out of school activities
It is essential that the successful candidate can demonstrate:
- Ability to act as a role model for pupils and be a positive influence on their behaviour at school
- Flexibility and commitment
- Good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively
- Initiative and the ability to work in a proactive way
- Ability to build good professional relationships with pupils and staff
