Job Overview
This is an exciting time for three full-time Advice and Information Response Officers to join our team within North Tyneside Council.
The role is a permanent full‑time vacancy within the Gateway First Contact Team (working days Monday – Friday; 8:30 – 17:00) and will be predominantly office‑based at the Quadrant offices.
Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for anyone wanting to access Adult and Children Social Care, responding to telephone, e‑mail and web portal contacts from the general public and professionals.
- Offer advice, information and support around universal services and take referrals when appropriate.
- Unpick complex issues and communicate confidently with all service‑user groups.
- Provide a courteous and helpful customer service experience for all callers and correspondents.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should be confident in handling fast‑paced incoming telephone calls, have an enquiring mind and exhibit excellent customer service skills.
Some knowledge of Adult and/or Children Care Legislation would be beneficial.
