Environmental Enhancement are looking to recruit a Senior Depot Operative to work in our busy yard. Working 37 hours per week with start and finish times depending on operational requirement, but generally 8am and 4pm respectively.

As part of your job you will be expected to:

  • Oversee and coordinate safe operations in the depot and yard
  • Assist with technical maintenance of the baler
  • Provide training to existing and new staff on the baler and associated equipment
  • Load, unload and process recyclate and refuse, and safely operate associated machinery
  • Assist with refuse, recycling and cleansing service delivery when required
  • Ensure cleanliness, legal compliance and safe operation of depot and yard
  • Take the lead for safe operation of the depot and yard on a daily basis
  • Regularly deputise in the absence of the supervisor

You should have:

  • Experience of and ability to manage a small team
  • Excellent timekeeping and attendance record
  • Experience of operating a wide range of machinery including telescopic handler, forklift truck, light commercial vehicles and baler
  • Experience on baler operations and knowledge of maintenance tasks
  • Experience of undertaking safety checks for plant and equipment
  • Excellent communication and people management skills
  • Understanding of the importance of adhering to safe systems of work and safety policies
