Contract: Casual

Shift Coverage:

  • Early: 7.30am‑3.30pm
  • Late: 1.30pm‑9.30pm
  • Long Day: 7:30am‑8.30pm
  • Mid Shift: 10:00am‑6pm
  • Night: 8.00pm‑8.00am

About the Role

Our nursing team are proud to support and care for patients and their families at their most difficult and vulnerable time. Our highly committed multi‑disciplinary team of staff and volunteers work seamlessly together to provide care of the highest standard. Our bedded unit receives referrals for patients needing support for various reasons including symptom control, rehabilitation following treatment or care in the last days of life. Our specialist medical team provides round‑the‑clock care and support to our patients in the comfort of a welcoming and homely environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality nursing care to patients in an end‑of‑life or palliative care setting.
  • Work autonomously and make decisions in partnership with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to person‑centred care and maintain a sensitive, caring attitude.
  • Adapt flexibly to the changing demands of the service and to shift coverage requirements.

Requirements:

  • Hold a registered nurse qualification with current NMC registration.
  • Provide evidence of continued professional development.
  • Post‑registration experience in end‑of‑life care, palliative care or a related field is desirable, although those recruited will be supported to develop specialist palliative care skills.
  • Understand palliative and end‑of‑life care nursing issues and patient pathway.
  • Be self‑motivated and able to work independently.
