The Role
We are looking to recruit a Specialist Support Officer to join our Specialist Support Team to support customers with additional needs to maintain their tenancies. You will be responsible for providing outcome driven, preventative services within the North Devon area. You will work closely with internal and external teams, agencies and third-party service providers to ensure customers are able to access these services.
The main responsibilities of the role are:
- Set up customer support package for customers to help support in maintaining their tenancies.
- Work with the Specialist support team leader on safeguarding for our customers.
- Develop a range of support services in conjunction with the Specialist Support team leader to which customers can be signposted.
- To work with customers with mental health needs that require support in independent living.
- Produce reports that may be required to evidence impact of support for customers.
- To work with other statutory and voluntary agencies to develop services that meet the local needs.
About You
- You will have a passion for helping people and the ability to stay calm in a crisis.
- You will have 3 years experience of working directly with vulnerable people in a housing management environment. You will be able to work on own initiative, with minimum supervision.
- You will be able to assess and make sound judgement relating to a person’s needs and support requirements.
- You will have experience in working with Mental Health Services and with adults with specialist support needs.
- You will have experience of working within a customer focused environment, have excellent communication skills with an ability to manage challenging situations.
- You will be able to investigate statutory and legal obligations.
- A full driving licence is required.
