We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic officer to join our Private Sector Housing Team as a Landlord & Tenant Liaison Officer. The officer will work to support the private rental sector by advising landlords, letting agents, and tenants, aiming to prevent homelessness and enforce housing legal rights and obligations.

The Landlord & Tenant Liaison Officer's primary responsibilities include providing expert advice, support, and mediation to resolve disputes in the private rented sector. This involves preventing homelessness, tackling illegal evictions, educating communities on tenancy rights, and ensuring compliance with housing legislation such as the Protection from Eviction Act 1977, Housing Act 2024, and Renters Rights Act 2025.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and enforcing compliance with housing regulations and legislation
  • Developing positive relationships with landlords, managing agents, tenants, and partner agencies to support compliance and facilitate early dispute resolution
  • Collaborating proactively with the Housing Options Team to identify and mitigate homelessness risks arising from private sector disputes or unlawful eviction attempts
Team Collaboration and Support

The officer will work within a dedicated team focused on addressing empty homes, improving energy efficiency, and managing disabled facilities grants. Regular team meetings and peer support are part of the structure to provide ongoing guidance and resources to ensure success in the role.
