Maternity cover, temporary contract for up to 12 months. Environmental Enhancement are looking to recruit a Deputy Waste and Recycling Manager to join our busy Barnstaple based team on a permanent contract.
You will oversee the operational services of Refuse, Recycling, Street Sweeping and Toilet Cleaning teams. You will be managing a team of 6 staff directly and 150 indirectly.
The ideal candidate will have experience and qualifications in the waste industry. As part of your job you will be expected to:
- Ensure Health & Safety regulations are followed
- Ensure all fleet requirements are met regarding the Councils O licence.
- Carry out general managerial tasks like staff appraisals and disciplinaries
- Have experience of working in a transport environment
- Provide support and cover to the Waste and Recycling Manager and Supervisor team
- Hold a valid LGV licence (desirable)
