The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.
To drive and work on a Refuse or Recycling collection round (Domestic or Trade) or Sweeping round. To undertake a refuse or recycling collection service for our domestic and trade customers, be responsible for a sweeping area schedule, litter picking, and depot duties. To drive non-LGV vehicles and deliver excellent customer service while being an ambassador for Operational Services.
Responsibilities include:
- Taking a leading hand role in relation to Loader/Sweepers as part of your crew/team.
- Driving non-LGV vehicles on refuse, recycling, or sweeping rounds - e.g. up to 7.5T, pick-up truck, street sweeper, van, car, or applied sweeper.
- Fully utilising and operating the Bartec in-cab technology.
- Manually collecting wheel bins in variety, sacks, or special collections, collecting and sorting recyclables, and emptying litter bins, either singly or as part of a crew.
- Driving vehicle to disposal point/transfer station to eject, tip, or sort load.
- Ensuring that allocated tasks are safely and efficiently completed.
- Manually sweeping using applied sweeper, broom, or petrol blower, litter picking, and emptying litter bins according to schedule, may use Butt barrow.
- Undertaking appropriate daily routine vehicle maintenance checks.
- Completing vehicle defect reports as appropriate.
- Being responsible for regularly washing down the outside of the vehicle at the appropriate time.
- Ensuring cleanliness of the inside of the vehicles.
- Complying with appropriate statutory requirements, Council policies, and procedures including Health and Safety, security, and reporting concerns to the appropriate person.
- Actively supporting the Council's Equal Opportunities Policy.
- Contributing to the overall aims and targets of Works & Recycling Services, appreciating and supporting the role of other team members.
- Being aware of and taking part in Works & Recycling Services performance management framework and participating in training and development activities as required.
- Undertaking any other similar duties as required to form part of a flexible work team.
