We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our busy Management team in Barnstaple dedicated to looking after the exceptional environment of North Devon - made up of its coastline, moors and historic urban and rural settlements centred on the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Braunton Burrows. The area provides an outstanding quality of life for its residents and a positive working environment in which you will find an ideal work-life balance.

Operational Services is seeking to appoint a Supervisor to:

  • Provide supervision and technical support to maximise the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of the Waste & Recycling services.
  • Be based at Brynsworthy Environment Centre and have experience of dealing diplomatically with a large cross-section of employees and customers.
  • Be a team member with the ability to motivate others to deliver excellent high-quality services to our customers.
  • Use a variety of IT apps/packages.
  • Carry out inspections of field and site operations to ensure compliance of operations to safe working practices, minimising relevant hazards.
  • Carry out appraisals, manage sickness levels, deal with disciplinary issues and general staffing issues.

Knowledge of waste management & street cleansing operations, along with knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, is desirable. Full training for every aspect of the post will be provided.
