Land Charges and Electoral Services Officer

Join our team at North Devon Council as a Land Charges and Electoral Services Officer.

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join the Election & Land Charges Team. The role is based in Barnstaple, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with additional hours as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the register of Local Land Charges and process Local Searches.
  • Assist in conducting elections and referendums, and compile the annual Register of Electors.
  • Handle land charges searches for property transactions, liaising with solicitors and council departments to gather relevant information.
  • Maintain the Land Charges Register, conduct searches, and update records.
  • Gather information from various sources, including GIS systems and council departments.
  • Supervise Land Charges Assistants and delegate routine tasks.
