Deputy Waste and Recyling Manager

Maternity cover, temporary contract for up to 12 months.

Environmental Enhancement is looking to recruit a Deputy Waste and Recycling Manager to join our busy Barnstaple-based team on a permanent contract. You will oversee the operational services of Refuse, Recycling, Street Sweeping, and Toilet Cleaning teams. You will be managing a team of 6 staff directly and 150 indirectly.

The ideal candidate will have experience and qualifications in the waste industry.

As part of your job, you will be expected to:

1. Ensure Health & Safety regulations are followed.
2. Ensure all fleet requirements are met regarding the Council’s O licence.
3. Carry out general managerial tasks like staff appraisals and disciplinaries.
4. Have experience of working in a transport environment.
5. Provide support and cover to the Waste and Recycling Manager and Supervisor team.
6. Hold a valid LGV licence (desirable).
