The Council is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our Planning Policy team, working jointly with neighbouring Torridge District Council. This is an exciting time for the Councils as we commence work on a comprehensive review of our Local Plan and the successful postholder will make a significant contribution to progressing the new Plan through to adoption. It is an opportunity to shape Northern Devon's future over the next 20 years - delivering the spatial framework for our development needs. We want to ensure vibrant and thriving places whilst protecting and enhancing our world class environment.

You will need to demonstrate that you have:

  • at least 2 years' experience of relevant work
  • a degree in Town Planning or a related degree
  • the ability to thrive in a busy and demanding work environment
  • the ability to lead on projects towards plan preparation
