We are looking for an experienced, committed and enthusiastic person to support farmers, landowners and land managers to shape the future of the North Devon Coast National Landscape, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Responsibilities
- Prioritise the delivery of the Farming in Protected Landscapes programme (FiPL) as a key member of a small, multi-disciplinary team.
- Use strong engagement and communication skills to provide advice and guidance to applicants, helping them develop, deliver and monitor impactful Nature, Climate, People and Place projects on farms across the North Devon Coast National Landscape.
- Work closely with the North Devon Coast National Landscape team and the FiPL Local Assessment Panel to administer panel meetings, score and assess applications, and monitor and report on project delivery.
- Conduct frequent site visits across the whole North Devon coastline, attend events outside normal office hours, and travel by driving to meet the needs of the role.
- Maintain an office-based presence while allowing for some home working as required.
Qualifications
- Track record of working in the farming, land management and nature conservation sector.
- Experience in building trusting relationships and project management.
- Working knowledge of farming and land management practices.
- Strong engagement, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to drive and travel to remote sites across North Devon.
Employment Details
Part‑time (0.6 FTE) and fixed‑term until March 2029 with the possibility of extension, subject to funding.
