We are pleased to offer an exciting internal opportunity for a motivated Physiotherapist to join our Band 6 Rotational Physiotherapy Team. This post is ideal for experienced clinicians or Band 5 physiotherapists ready to step up and develop their clinical leadership skills across a range of settings.

This Band 6 rotational post provides the chance to build advanced skills while working across a range of specialty areas. Each rotation offers the opportunity to consolidate clinical reasoning, develop autonomy, and contribute to service improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied and sometimes complex caseload with increasing independence
  • Providing specialist assessment and treatment
  • Supporting Band 5s, assistants, and students through supervision and teaching
  • Contributing to service development and quality improvement projects
  • Participating in MDT working and supporting effective patient flow
  • Engaging in CPD, in-service training, and supervision structures

  • Evidence of an active part in training for personal and professional development
  • Able to undertake on-call duties and community rotations
  • Ability to travel across sites, independently

Knowledge and Experience

  • Good Knowledge of Evidence Based Clinical Practice
  • Good Knowledge of Continuing Evidence of Professional Development/Lifelong Learning

  • Key NHS drivers for change and implications for physiotherapy services
  • Portfolio of evidence of post-graduate learning e.g. ALERT, neurology, cardio-respiratory etc.
  • Consolidation and development of undergraduate training through attendance at in service training and other CPD opportunities
  • Working independently on call
  • Delegation and caseload prioritisation
  • Supervising e.g. students, newly qualified staff or technical instructors
  • Working to full band 5 outline
  • Involvement in service development through clinical audit, use of outcome measures etc.
  • Deputising for colleagues
  • Rotations in a broad range of core areas, e.g. cardio-respiratory, ITU, elderly rehabilitation, acute medicine, orthopaedics, MSK, neurology and community rehabilitation
  • Equality legislation and best practice.
  • Responsibility for an area of work, e.g. health & safety, in-service training
  • Work within a community setting

Qualifications

  • CSP recognised Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • HPC registered
  • Member of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Clinical supervision / mentoring certificate or equivalent.
