Domestic Assistant (WCH)

Domestic Assistant (WCH) – 20 hours per week – Monday to Friday 3:30-7:30pm

Responsibilities

To promote and provide a high standard of cleanliness on our hospital wards, clinical areas and other trust premises

Main duties of the job

  • Floor buffing
  • Shampoo carpets with extraction machines
  • Clean inside windows, frames and sills
  • Clean furniture and fittings, mirrors etc, to include moving of furniture and equipment as required to enable efficient cleaning
  • Assist in induction of new staff
  • Routine cleaning and basic maintenance of cleaning equipment
  • Attend all Mandatory training sessions
  • Order weekly stores and put away on delivery

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level1 Cleaning & Support Services or equivalent
  • BICSc certification or equivalent
  • NVQ 2 in Cleaning and Support Services

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of cleaning, food handling/hygiene, COSHH procedures
  • Basic Literacy and Numeracy
  • Work in a hospital environment
  • Work in a domestic role

Skills

  • Able to work alone and in a team
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Able to follow health and safety and hygiene procedures
