The Day Units are looking for a Senior Coordinator to manage the day to day running of their new referral Hub. The Day units have been open for 5 years in Wigton and Maryport and have expanded the treatments they offer throughout this time. We are now developing the community hub phlebotomy model which will be a pivotal element to the senior coordinator role. The Senior Coordinator will manage all referrals for treatment into the day units and communicate with a team of nurses and health care assistants to facilitate timely appointments for patients.

The day unit Senior Co-ordinator will work alongside the Service Manager to manage the day to day running of the day units as well as implement service improvements. The Day unit Senior Coordinator will also be responsible for staff rostering in order to ensure adequate service coverage during agreed opening hours as well as identifying training needs and ensuring that training and staff development is carried out. The Day unit Senior Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring systems and processes are in place to triage referrals in line with Standard Operating Procedures, whilst supporting the Day unit Team to identify those referrals in need of an immediate response and direct these referrals to the appropriate clinician.

The Senior Coordinator will be required to work alongside a number of key stakeholders to ensure that all patient referrals are dealt with in a timely manner and where appropriate patients are signposted to other services.
