Project Manager – Digital Programmes

Open for roles in local, community and acute services throughout North Cumbria. The post holder will manage projects and be a key team member, helping to support a transformational digital modernisation programme. Training opportunities are available on process mapping, benefits management and communications tools.

Main duties of the job

  • Plan and implement a range of benefits and change management activities.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify benefits of IT/digital projects.
  • Support benefits baselining and realisation work.
  • Facilitate the design of new business processes to maximise the benefits of digital technology.
  • Plan, organise and facilitate meetings and workshops to support benefits, change and communications activities on projects.
  • Manage stakeholders, taking account of their levels of influence and particular interests.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and a DBS check will be required. The cost will be met by salary deduction: Standard Check £27.40, Enhanced Check £55.40, both over a 4‑month period or one‑off payment.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Degree level education or equivalent knowledge.
  • PRINCE2 Foundation.
  • MS Project Professional / Project Web App.
  • MS Office.
  • Benefits Management.
  • Change Management.
  • NHS Digital Clinical Safety.

Experience

  • Leading work in a project environment, preferably using PRINCE2.
  • Securing resources needed to deliver a project.
  • Researching, assessing and prioritising stakeholder requirements.
  • Preparing and maintaining schedules, including dependencies and resource requirements.
  • Creating consolidated plans for overall project management.
  • Experience in NHS and/or IT project management.
  • Developing and leading teams.
  • Establishing and agreeing overall project budgets.
  • Interfacing with disciplines such as legal, finance and HR.
  • Resource management and conflict management.
  • Monitoring financial performance against a budget.
  • Developing business cases with strategic arguments, risk, timescales and whole‑life costs.
