Overview

The Physiotherapy Teams at NCIC are recruiting Rotational Band 5 Physiotherapists for Carlisle and the East Cumbria network. Are you graduating this year and want to work in Cumbria? Have you already been working and would like to live and work in a beautiful part of the UK? We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated and forward thinking physiotherapists (permanent and fixed term) to join our team in the Carlisle, Brampton and Eden area who will help provide exceptional clinical care and develop dynamic clinicians who bring innovation to our ever developing service.

As a team we provide ongoing opportunities through preceptorship, in-service training programmes; clinical supervision; management supervision and other training opportunities (formal and informal). All staff are expected to actively participate in their own development and that of others. We will encourage and facilitate involvement in service development, including research. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.

The rotational scheme consists of 4 monthly rotations covering a wide range of specialties including musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, respiratory, elderly care, community rehabilitation, paediatrics, medical, critical care, acute stroke and neuro-rehabilitation. The rotations cross acute, community and outpatient settings, giving broad experience and opportunities. Clinical supervision and continuing professional development are actively encouraged and you will be expected to take part in our in-service training program and respiratory on-call service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide rotational physiotherapy across a wide range of specialties including musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, respiratory, elderly care, community rehabilitation, paediatrics, medical, critical care, acute stroke and neuro-rehabilitation.
  • Engage in preceptorship, in-service training, clinical supervision and CPD; participate actively in service development and research as appropriate.
  • Maintain effective communication and teamwork, supporting both independent work and collaborative practice.
  • Contribute to an on-going respiratory on-call service where applicable.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Enthusiastic, motivated and forward-thinking physiotherapist with excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and any visa sponsorship considerations as outlined (see below).
  • Willingness to participate in preceptorship, supervision and professional development activities.
