North Co Recruitment are working with a leading insurtech to appoint a Pricing Lead into their Retail Pricing team. This is a senior technical role with responsibility for leading model development, shaping pricing strategy and delivering commercial outcomes across a high-volume direct motor book, operating in a data-driven, fast-growth environment.

What you'll do

  • Lead pricing workstreams, overseeing model build and advising on long-term pricing strategy.
  • Develop and implement pricing models using GLMs, machine learning and optimisation techniques.
  • Manage rate changes and implementation of new pricing algorithms to drive performance.
  • Deliver actionable insights and recommendations that balance customer satisfaction with profitability.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to solve key commercial questions and support strategic decision-making.
  • Perform data enrichment and analysis to identify market opportunities and competitive advantages.
  • Recruit, develop and manage junior analysts, controlling workloads and fostering team capability.
  • Proactively improve processes, tools and techniques within the Retail Pricing function.
  • Represent the pricing team in senior leadership meetings and act as a technical point of contact.

What we're looking for

  • Strong experience in personal lines insurance pricing, ideally motor.
  • Proven track record of building and implementing predictive models in a commercial environment.
  • Advanced technical skills across SQL, Python, and pricing platforms (Emblem, Radar, SAS or similar).
  • Solid mathematical and statistical foundation, with experience in GLMs, optimisation and non-linear methods.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Databricks, GitHub or equivalent tools.
  • People and project management capability, with the ability to lead workstreams and develop junior team members.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex analysis to senior stakeholders.
  • BSc or MSc in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or similar discipline (PhD desirable).

Salary: Up to £75,000 plus discretionary bonus

Location: Remote first with quarterly attendance to a UK based office.
