Job Overview
This post holder will provide administrative and data management support to both the facilitation and sponsorship teams within the research and development department at NBT. The post holder will work with a variety of stakeholders, ensuring high standards of communication, compliance and advocacy across clinical research operations, patient safety, and service sustainability.

This post is offered full time, fixed term for a year.

Main duties of the job

Key Elements Of The Role Include

  • Co-ordinate and provide administrative support to the Facilitation and Sponsorship Teams, be a contact point for research delivery teams and ensuring the smooth operation of research activities through effective data management, communication and coordination.
  • Co-ordinate the department email inboxes including allocating emails to relevant team members and actioning emails including Expressions of Interest (EOIs), research amendments, sponsorship requests and general enquiries.
  • Maintain high quality data on Research IT systems (EDGE and Redcap).
  • Ensure the integrity of clinical research data in accordance with ICH-GCP, (inc. UK Statutory Instruments), ISO 14155, and local, national, and international legislation.
  • Advocate for the safety and well-being of patients/participants, and staff.
  • Actively promote research across the trust and wider communities.
  • Communicate professionally and clearly with all patients/participants, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate leadership relevant to role and act as a professional role model.
  • Be an upstander for addressing concerns as they arise.
  • Support and educate colleagues including students and Principal Investigators (PIs).
  • Work within various research teams and clinical environments as needed.
  • Play an active role in delivering a sustainable service.

Person specification

Education/Training/Qualifications
Essential criteria

  • Level 4 qualifications (such as NVQ 4, HNC, Diploma) or equivalent experience
  • Maintain mandatory training required for the role.
  • Undertake and maintain ICH-GCP certification.

Work Experience

Essential criteria

  • Advanced IT and digital literacy skills, with the ability to develop further
  • Previous administrative experience, including dealing with internal and external stakeholders and organising work systems
  • Demonstrates continuous professional development (CPD)
  • Able to communicate complex information with good communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Able to plan and organise complex work independently
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience of supervising junior staff.
  • Awareness of own limitations and appropriate use of escalation processes
  • Able to work under pressure and promote a positive work environment.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience with research-related administrative processes.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Essential criteria

  • Experience in handling research data, including data entry, producing reports and maintaining confidentiality
  • Experience in planning meetings, taking minutes and distributing actions

Desirable criteria

  • Experience supporting service development or improvements.

Personal Qualities/Special Circumstances

Essential criteria

  • Adaptable and flexible to meet service needs.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously.
  • Ability to be mobile to meet the needs of the post.
