Join our Security and Parking team to ensure staff, patients and visitors enjoy a safe environment and a positive experience on our sites. The role involves patrols, incident response, report writing, and enforcing the site traffic policy. IT literacy and digital competence are necessary for receiving and reporting on handheld devices. You will interact with individuals with varying needs and backgrounds and may work with people who are distressed or in need of support.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to incidents on Trust property, including investigations into suspicious behaviour or criminal activity such as theft and anti-social behaviour.
  • Provide a security presence to support clinical staff; attend clinical incidents to provide support and assistance.
  • Protect Trust property from malicious damage and theft; promote a safe, positive environment to reduce crime.
  • Accurately record every incident, gather relevant information, and complete detailed reports.
  • Maintain effective security presence in the Emergency Department (ED) areas on a rotational basis, intercepting poor behaviours and ensuring ED service is not disrupted.
  • Assist with fire alarm evacuations and enforce the Trust Parking policy, including car park cash handling where applicable.
  • Assist with car park closures, bay closures, and traffic management as required.
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are met; report health and safety breaches or near misses as per policy; uphold Equality, Diversity and Inclusion commitments.
  • Provide support with risk management for the Division and the Trust by identifying risks or opportunities and maintaining controls and contingencies.

Requirements

Education/Training/Qualifications

  • Essential: GCSE English or higher (written and verbal)
  • Essential: Level 2 Customer Service or equivalent
  • Desirable: Valid SIA licence
  • Desirable: Valid CCTV licence

Work Experience

  • Essential: Minimum 2 years security experience
  • Desirable: Police or military experience

Role Details

Full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, with shift patterns on a rota including days, nights, and weekends. Previous applicants need not apply. Applicants invited to interview must be able to attend in person.
